Hi—I’m Sam Stephenson, @sstephenson on Twitter. I’ve been building web software for 37signals since 2006.

I’m a full-stack developer but I specialize in sweating the details to help bring great user interfaces to life. My most recent work includes the calendar and page-stacking behavior in the all-new Basecamp.

I’m the creator of the following open-source software:

• Pow, a zero-configuration Rack development server
• Sprockets, a Rack-based asset packaging system
• rbenv, the best Ruby version management system
• ruby-build, the easiest way to compile and install Ruby
• Eco, an embedded CoffeeScript template language
• Stitch, CommonJS-based asset packaging for the web
• Brochure, a Rack application for serving static sites
• ExecJS, an API for accessing JavaScript from Ruby
• Bats, a TAP-compliant testing framework for Bash
• Dimensions, a pure-Ruby library for measuring images
• Prototype JavaScript framework (2005—2010)
